Do you ever get an itch to change things up a bit? The makeover itch usually strikes me about twice a year. Sometimes it will be my hair, wardrobe, apartment, or some other area of my life.
Yesterday the mood struck me to rearrange my bedroom. I’m not a huge fan of my bedroom and don’t like to spend time in it besides for sleeping. I won’t go into all the design flaws of it, and perhaps some of my decorating/layout flaws, but suffice it enough to say that it wasn’t good.
To get a jump start to the day, I started off with a mug of fiber:
And later on, perked up with an ice cold coffee:
I spent all yesterday morning moving all of my bedroom furniture out to the living room, cleaning and organizing my storage spaces, and vacuuming. After that, I took a break with a cup of vegetarian chili decorated with shredded cheese and sour cream.
Several blue corn tortilla chips were used for dipping purposes. This led to the idea that someone really needs to create blue corn scoop tortilla chips. That would make my life so much more enjoyable!
After lunch, I proceeded to do more cleaning and organizing in my bedroom. I then moved each furniture piece back into my bedroom in its new location. Whew! Moving a queen-sized bed, two large bookcases, a desk, and dresser by yourself is hard! Prince was exhausted from just watching me:
You would think that he was the one doing all the heavy lifting! For an energy boost, I had a couple of handfuls of my key lime pie trail mix in between moving mattresses.
Finally, everything was back in the room in its new spot! I can’t wait to show you guys pictures later on in the week. But I’m so happy with my new room! Afterwards, I crashed and watched last week’s episode of the The Bachelorette and the first episode of Bethenny’s Getting Married. I’ve never been a huge fan of this other Bethenny, but I absolutely loved her on this show and think that she might have won me over. I loved her sarcastic New York humor and it reminded me of my old roommate from New York!
While vegging in front of the boob tube (but not really because I was in front of my laptop), I had a quick-n-easy dinner consisting of a Boca Chik’n patty topped with swiss cheese, ketchup, and mayo, all served between two piles of iceberg lettuce.
My original plan for yesterday included starting Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred workout, but I figured that moving all of my furniture counted as a workout in itself so delayed my date with Jillian until later today!
How often do you rearrange furniture in your place of dwelling?
